16/07/2017 - Hardy 11ft Perfection Roach

 Today Monday 3rd July was like waiting for Christmas day, in fact all through Sunday and the early hours of this morning from 0500hrs until around 1130hrs when the UPS van pulled up outside my house, before the driver could get out of his cab, I was beside it. I said “Do you have a package for Martin James”? “Yes” he said. Back in my study with trembling hands I unwrapped the bubble pack then undid the ties on the rod, it was what I’ve dreamed of for many years since losing my previous 11 foot Hardy Perfection Roach in a house fire.

All I can say Jim of The Vintage Fishing Company is “Thank you very much for the excellent service” Though I have a good selection of centre pin reels I've also purchased an Allcocks Ariel 3.75" and a Hardy 4" Eureka to compliment my Perfection Roach rod, the former for trotting, the latter for laying on also for stret-pegging, The Eureka has hardly been used as it's in prime condition. I'm well pleased with the great service from Jim Hudson of The Vintage Fishing Company. The rod now stands proudly in the rod rack in my hallway waiting for my next trip to the River Beult for some roach fishing, if I could find some of those elusive roach on the River Wye that would also be good. My friend Tam has been catching some nice roach to 1lb 12 ounces from a Midland still water which I hope to visit in August.
