New Books from First -Nature

FIRST NATURE (www.first-nature.com) provides free access to more than 1100 pages of articles and photographs of British and European wildflowers, fungi, birds, insects, fish, mammals, reptiles and trees. The authors, Pat and Sue O'Reilly, provide an online response service to questions about:
Wildflowers (Sue is a noted authority on British and European wild orchids and, under the nom-de-plume Sue Parker, she is the author of several books on this intriguing subject)

Fungi (Pat's lifelong interest in these fascinating organisms has made him one of Britain's most consulted amateur mycologists).
If you are interested in wildlife, ecology and countryside topics, do take a look at the BOOKS section of the First Nature website, at www.first-nature.com/books where you will find some excellent and inexpensive books and interactive CD-ROMS including the Wonderful Wildflowers of Wales (four volumes covering different habitat types such as Woodlands and Waysides, Seashores and Coastal Cliffs etc). There are wild orchid books about the many species found in Wales as well as volumes dedicated to other famous locations including The Burren in Ireland and The Algarve in southern Portugal. (There is also a beautifully illustrated guide to Algarve Wildlife, written by Clive Viney and Ray Tipper.)

For fishing enthusiasts there is a wealth of flyfishing guidance on the site, and the Books section is is the place to obtain signed copies of Pat O'Reilly's bestselling Matching the Hatch, as well as A Flyfisher's Guide to the Teifi Valley and several other 'how to' guides plus, coming shortly, At The Water's Edge by Martin James.
