Obituary - Andy Robbins

Game and coarse angler Andy Robbins sadly passed away on Saturday February 28th 2009 He was recently featured in Anglers Mail with a River Ribble pike weighing 34lbs just days before his passing he was featured on At The Waters Edge programme on BBC Radio Lancashire discussing his life as an angler. 46 year old Andy was unmarried lived in Blackburn Lancashire with his parents, His mother once said to Fred Higham. Andy isn't interested in girls " he only lived to fish" A great all-round angler he was very popular member of both Ribblesdale and Ribchester and District AC Last season he was presented with the shield for the best salmon caught on fly at 20lb plus by Ribblesdale A.A member when fishing at Calder Foot and in true sporting fashion he returned the fish to continue its way up river to successfully spawn. Andy will be greatly missed not only by his family and close friends but by all who came in touch with him either through work or fishing. My condolences to his family and his many friends. R.I.P
