MBE for Fred J Taylor
Congratulations go to Fred J Taylor author writer and countryman who love's to fish, shoot and reap a rich harvest from the countryside who has been awarded an MBE for services to angling in the New Years Honours. Fred a great friend of the late Richard Walker is the author of several books and was a regular contributor for several magazines and newspapers including. Anglers News, Midland Angler, Anglers Mail, Shooting Times and Country Magazine, Angling Times, London Evening Standard and Sunday Telegraph. Among his many books were Fishing for Tench, One for the Pot, My Fishing Years, Angling in Earnest, Guide to Ferreting and My Fishing Years, Two books which really inspired me were Angling in Earnest published in 1958 followed by Favourite Swims. They certainly encouraged me to get out to the waterside, that’s if I needed such a thing. An award well deserved.
