Well Done Brendan Ince of Blackburn

Blackburn Lancashire angler Brendan Ince fishing the River Ribble upstream of the M6 motorway bridge caught his personal best chub and barbel.

The water is controlled by Wigan AC cards cost £20-00 a season, available from Carters Church Street Preston. Brendan was using was 12 lb mainline, 12 lb braid hook link and a free running 3 oz lead. The bait was a 16mm anchovie boily with a pva bag of different size halibut pellets

Early in the session he caught his first ever barbel of 8lbs, this was then followed by a chub of 4-8-0 a PB. Just as he was thinking of calling it a day he caught a 9-15-0 barbel.

What I liked about the picture (see pictures) was Brendans smile. I reckon it said everything about our sport, as so many people look quite miserable when they are pictured with a good fish. Note the fish weighed an ounce off a double. As Brendan said "The double will come one day and I can look forward to that"
