There’s no madness to the method from Pallatrax

As fishermen, we at Pallatrax have looked to cover all the angles with The Method Mix. Like all of our products, The Mix has been developed at Pallington Lakes and, by combining proven scientific facts with extensive fieldtesting, has resulted in a specific blend which includes fishmeals, proteins and stimulants, a balanced and nutritional mix that fish find hard to resist and actually want to eat. It is that simple.

Using The Method Mix is one of the most effective ways of placing added attractant immediately next to your hookbait, even closer using the Stonze™and a Stumpy Rig. Due to the pitted and porous surface, the Method Mixwill bind around your Stonze™and take on the flavour. Using The Method Mix and ‘Stonze™System’, we have cast accurately in excess of 100 metres.

As the Method Mix breaks down it reveals just another stone among those occurring naturally, so the fish will detect nothing but food and are more likely to take your hook bait, instead of possibly shying away from the usualman-made and totally unnatural feeders and leads that we have come to use.

There is nothing worse than having a mix that won’t bind or isn’t up to the job of being able to be cast the distance required, and with our Method we have taken these factors to task, also seriously looking at the breakdown rates of the mix across the board. To this end we have developed a highly efficient, fish-catching mix that we are extremely proud of, to say the least. Definitely a real edge that has frequently produced the goods with some massive carp, tench and bream bags and even more recently also been accredited in the capture of some excellent double figure barbel.

Time has taught us that it is always worth your while to put that extra bit of effort and thought in to blending a mix that is just right. By following Clive Owden’s instructions, you will be able to prepare a mix that really works. One word of caution, always make sure that your tackle is up to it. You certainly wouldn’t want your rod to buckle under the weight of the method or the ‘grunt’ needed to cast out!!

Grahame King broke the UK Barbel record using the StonzeTM System!

Grahame King caught his British record Barbel 21lb.2oz twice in just 20 days from the Great Ouse at Adams Mill - the most pressured Barbel water in the UK, using a pale medium StonzeTM. This remarkable achievement was backed up with 16 other doubles in just 12 sessions (between October2nd to November 9th) including fish of 15lb.2oz, 17lb.2oz and 17lb.10oz after changing from a normal lead to the StonzeTM System.

The following are just some of the key points why you would fish the ‘StonzeTM System’:

* Unique product and environmentally friendly Stonze™are naturally unique in colour, shape, size and weight Stonze™settle on the bottom as opposed to crashing like lead, therefore are excellent for fishing silty bottoms* Stonze™can be left in the water to encourage algae growth –resulting in further natural camouflage You cannot get a more natural product to do the job of a fishing weight Increased catch rates Further camouflage – lakes and rivers tend to have natural stony bottoms Excellent for using when method fishing because of their naturally pitted surface Stonze™, being porous, will take on and hold a flavour and add further attractant next to your hook bait Fish learn by association and have senses yet to be fully understood – anything unnatural (e.g. lead) can indicate a possible danger Leads and their uniform shape are consistently used on pressured waters, which makes them difficult waters Leads are purely a man-made weight produced from a toxic substance (already banned in some countries for its toxicology). Painting or coating them makes them further man-made and unnatural – and still a lead. Now your weight can be as natural as a Stonze™ And it really does make sense.

Method Mix Pour approximately half of your 1kg bag of The Method Mix into a suitable container or mixing bowl and then add approximately 300ml of lake or river water We generally feel that it is advisable to use water from your fishing location and not treated tap water, as it contains elements not normally found in natural watercourses. Taking your time, thoroughly blend the water and the Method Mix together. Try to get as much air into the mix as you work it.

Always be aware that you may have to add more water if the mix becomes too dry, or more method if the mix is too wet. Be it adding more mix or more water, only add a small amount at a time. We have found that fluctuations in water temperature sometimes require such ‘remedial’ action. Our Method Mix contains all the essential ingredients for a very successful blend and, therefore, it is not necessary to have to bulk out with other products. We also believe that any added ingredient could possibly detract from the overall make up. That’s certainly not to say don’t experiment.

We suggest the type of things to add are amounts of hemp, corn or other small particles or bits of your hookbaits, be it boilies or cheese! When satisfied that your mix is up to the job you require it to do, simply wrap an amount around your Stonze™, moulding with consistent pressure. This results in the mix clinging to the naturally pitted surface of your Stonze™. This extra grip has certainly proved to be advantageous, especially for distance casting and we have to say that it completely surprised us at first.

Once you have cast out into position, your method and terminal rig should settle to the bottom with ease. The whole arrangement, especially when fishing a Stumpy Rig, will be efficiently contained and presented within the mix, a pretty much tangle-free affair. This is when we have really seen and appreciated the attributes of the Stonze™ System when fished in conjunction with an effective mix. Your method will slowly break down, leaving your rig perfectly presented amid a bed of nutritional fish feed. Your previously man-made feeder or lead no longer exists within the equation, having been changed for a more effective and natural Stonze™.
