Royal Lancashire Show 26th, 27th & 28th July 2005

The Fishing Village on the banks of the River Ribble will be even bigger and better this year, with a great line-up of game, coarse and sea angling personalities demonstrating their skills and answering your questions from 10 am to 4pm each day.

Sue Parker and Pat O’Reilly of DreamStreams Flyfishing will cover casting and fishing techniques for salmon, trout and sea trout; 14 year old match angler Samantha O’Neill of Hyndburn & Blackburn A A will demonstrate pole fishing, with a commentary by Alan Lord; and international sea angler John Amery will show you how to set up and cast a range of rigs for surf, boat and rock mark fishing.

For carp fishers there will be talks and demonstrations by Tony Booker of Angling Concepts, Phil Chum of Cotswold Bait Creations, and Chris Bowman. During the three days there will also be talks on chub and barbel tactics as well as fly fishing for pike.

Join MC Martin James of BBC Radio Lancashire and his team in the Fishing Village Marquee, on the banks of the River Ribble where you can also try casting with a Thomas and Thomas fly rod. There you will be able to meet Clive Mitchelhill and Glyn Freeman of The Complete Angling Experience, watch demonstrations and get hands on experience of fly dressing with the Pendle Flydressers Guild, Prince Albert Angling Society, Friends of the River Yarrow, and Hyndburn & Blackburn A A. where you can meet the various officials.

One of the great attractions will no doubt be the Eden Rivers Trust with Rob Coleman and Seth Johnson Marshall of the Wye Usk Foundation . If you want to know how and where to fish these delightful rivers Rob and Seth will no doubt have the answers
