Anglers Mail 22nd March 2005

In this weeks Anglers Mail you can read about some magnificent fish which have been captured countrywide. Anglers Mail staff certainly know how to catch the big ones. Reporter Garry Newman in the last week of the season caught a 7lb 9 ounce chub an 11lb 2 ounce zander then on the last Saturday of the season Gary fishing with noted big fish angler Paul Smyth of Thatcham caught a personal best perch of 3lb 6 ounces. On page 4 and 5 there is a story to beat all big fish stories. Tackle dealer Andy Brown of Avon Angling at Ringwood had an amazing last day catching a 3lb 2 ounce roach and two huge chub of 7lb 12 ounces and 7lb 1ounce. On pages 6 and 7 there are a host of big fish captures, and congratulations must go to 10 year old Darcey Halder who captured her first perch which was a real clonker weighing 4lb 2 ounces. You will find several pages devoted to carp fishing. Don't miss the picture of Karen Peacock on page 27 with her river Kennet carp. Karen is another woman who does know how to fish. Towards the back of the magazine you will find reports from around the coast, with Mike Thrussell writing about hermit crabs for bait. In the 80 odd pages there is something for the coarse and sea angler. Anglers Mail is the only weekly fishing magazine that caters for the sea angler.
