A Good Winter Caught Barbel

David Hallet fishing with maggot feeder under an alder tree. on the River Kennet river which was very low and quite clear. As David said "We desperately need a lot of rain" He hooked two good fish, the first got off when the backlead got snagged. The second was landed and weighed 11-6-0 which is a personal best for David from his Kennet fishery on a day when there was a bitterly cold north west wind blowing straight into his face.
