At 11-30am Sunday 5th December 2004 angling lost a true gentleman of the sport. 67 year old Ivan Marks of Leicester passed away. That dreaded disease cancer has claimed another victim. Ivan was a well known figure on the match circuit with his winning team The Leicester Likely Lads. Ivan represented England in the World championships on many occasions, he was the winner of many big open championships. Including The Great Ouse Championship,Welland Championship The Embassy The C.I.U. and many others. Ivan was also a great fan of greyhound racing. His book Float Fishing With Ivan Marks published by Pelham Books in 1978 is still the book to read if you want to practise the art of float fishing. My condolences go to his wife Linda, son Christopher and all his family and friends at this tragic time. Ivan Rest In Peace
