Chub and Barbel From River Kennet

Two fishing buddies Kevin Dyer of Maidstone Kent a sales manager and Rob Burt from Tonbridge, Kent who works at Hadlow College where he is head of department of Fisheries Section and lectures in fishery management had a great days angling on the River Kennet. Kevin and Rob have fished together for the past 30 years since meeting up at school. Their last days fishing on the River Kennet last July which accounted for over 30 barbel between them.
On Saturday the pair had a days fishing we all dream about. Roving up and down the river with 'canes and pins', they caught 11 barbel, with the best at 11lb.10oz. by Kevin. And not to be out done ( and no doubt not wanting to buy the beer later !!) Rob sneaked out a chub at 6lb 4 oz a new personal best.See pictures on Catch of the month
