CHESHIRE GAME & ANGLING FAIR

The Cheshire Game & Angling Fair takes place on Sunday, 15th August at Peover Park near Knutsford. The park is on the A50 between Knutsford (M6 junction 19) and Holmes Chapel (M6 junction 18) Fair Secretary, John Harrison, said, "This will be the 23rd Fair and it promises to be bigger and better than ever. It's always been a special day with enthusiasts for every possible country sport renewing old friendships and competing keenly in the many trials and tests. It's also important for us to give a good day out to families from towns and cities. For them the Fair is a window showing what really goes on in the countryside. With this in mind, all our events and demonstrations have a children and young people's opportunity. The continuous angling demonstrations on the lake include pond - dipping to discover what fish eat, plus fly casting "have a go" with the Salmon & Trout Association and coarse fishing instruction too. With brass band, Craft Tent, Food Hall and hundreds of trade stands, the Fair is not to be missed and won't cost a fortune at £5 a head and £2 concessions for over 65's and under 16's. Under 5's are free.
.The angling demonstrators this year are Jan Porter, float and pole, Charles Jardine, and his son Alex casting and cooking, Jim Tomlinson, Fly Casting Alan Roe, centre pin Wallis casting, Andrew Taylor and Reg Colley, STANIC Instructors, Pond dipping and Fly Fishing and Coilin Goodge of the Pike Anglers club
