With literally hundreds of years of cherished angling in the company of great friends, a business concept is now launched – Lone Angler.
The exciting brainchild of accredited angler and author Trefor West and his close fishing partner, businessman and entrepreneur Mike O’Neill, we are now pleased to announce that this new business is to be officially launched on Friday 15th March 2013.
Mike O’Neill stated; “Though this is an extremely serious business venture which we will put the full resources of the OMM Group into, it’s also an honour to assist in bringing Trefor and Tony’s age old concept into a reality. Quality and British products are fast disappearing from our sport and we are set to change that on all fronts.”
The original idea was to provide discerning anglers with fishing tackle of the highest quality as conceived, developed and used by Trefor over the last fifteen years with Mike’s successful business acumen bringing this bespoke range to an on-line audience for the first time.
Trefor West stated; “With over eighty years of combined fishing between me and Tony, the opportunity to be one of the major influences behind Lone Angler is a real privilege. Rest assured I can personally guarantee that quality and innovation will be at the forefront of our ranges.”
In the first instance, the barbel sector is being targeted with a range of ‘Made in Britain’ products to include a selection of classic rods developed in conjunction with top UK rod builders, Harrison Advanced Rods, and thoughtfully designed luggage from Cotswold Aquarius. Other products that Trefor uses and feels comfortable and confident to endorse have also been added, from landing nets through to an array of terminal tackle.
As our strategy has grown, Trefor’s close friend and renowned angler and author Tony Miles joined the team, reforming their long-standing alliance, ‘Double T’. This has immediately added another dimension and overnight both new and old ideas were discussed and additional plans set in motion. First up is a new river bait range, under Trefor and Tony’s famous ‘Sausage Sizzle’ brand, which has been developed to include boilies, pellets, ground baits, pastes and flavour enhancers. Further launches will be added over the coming months including the unique ‘Tony Miles’ Chub rod, and a host of other unparalleled products.
Tony Miles stated; “I am absolutely delighted to be part of this exciting new venture and renew my partnership with Trefor. As well as endorsement of all products and terminal tackle that I have used extensively, I shall be involved in the development of the new chub rod, with rods for carp, pike, tench etc to follow. My brief also includes the development of bespoke top quality carp baits, as well as specialist items for the still water angler. I can only endorse what Trefor has said in that all products offered will be of the highest quality”
